Kickstart your day with "Hysteria", the hyperactive new single from Atlanta alt-punk trio Flower. It's premiering today via New Noise Magazine and is the first taste from their upcoming record Death by Internet.
Gazing into the menacing 21st-century zeitgeist with Death by Internet, Flower delivers a blistering follow-up EP to 2015's full-length debut Waste of Life. A natural evolution from its deeply personal predecessor, Death by Internet viciously challenges our desperate reliance on an alienating network of disconnected imagery over the course of a three song full-sensory assault.
Says frontman Jack Fowler, "Everything's a joke, defining ourselves by our social media pages, becoming hysterical recluses. That's death by internet. Addiction. Agoraphobia. Loneliness and longing. You are so much more than your profile on the internet."
Relationships, ideas, thoughts, information -- with Death by Internet, Flower dismantles how we process them all, leaving the listener amidst the pieces of a fractured culture, too complacent to rebuild.
It's official -- Atlanta-based indie folk band God Bless Relative's debut album, The Bay of Gordon | The South, is available now. Splash into the coastal sensations and stream it in full below.
Following a year of non-stop touring in support of their critically acclaimed debut, Waste of Life, Atlanta alt-rock act Flower show no signs of slowing down in 2017, revealing plans to release a new EP, Death by Internet, later next month.
"We have a lot of material that we've just been sitting on," says frontman Jack Fowler. "Last year was so busy. We're just excited to share the new music and play more sweaty basements again."
Flower return to the road this spring after sharing stages in 2016 with legendary acts like Dinosaur Jr., American Football, L7, and Thursday. Stay tuned in the weeks ahead for a list of East Coast tour dates.
Death by Internet officially arrives on March 31st via Megafuss Records.

With God Bless Relative, Atlanta’s Blake Tallent shines a new light on the tried-and-true elements of indie folk pop.
Born from a life altering experience while Tallent was living in Australia, the band’s debut EP, The Bay of Gordon | The South, chronicles a nomadic transition from New South Wales back to life on the Florida / Georgia line -- a cathartic experience for the artist and listener alike.
Says Tallent, on the impetus of the record, “The songs of the debut EP were devised from the process of learning to live in a separate culture and the uncomfortable decision to come back to my small hometown in the South."
The Bay of Gordon | The South officially arrives on March 3rd.
